1000 Paper Cranes

In my "free time" - You, know the 4 hour chunk between 10:30PM,  when my son goes to bed and 1:30 AM, when my husband gets up for work that I'm wide awake.  So, in this time I do things.  In the last 6 months or so I had been working on folding 1,000 origami paper cranes.  I would also take a break to fold origami squrriels for my brother.
Photo copyright my brother
(He's a weirdo - we have the same parents after all.)

I am still working on on hanging them at the moment. Here they are:
Seconds after this he flopped
 face first into the pile.
Sorry there is no picture of that
Rigby, of course could not resist the
paper/bird combo before him.

As per the legend I folded them all myself. Now that these are done I will be waiting with great anticipation for all that good luck that comes with the task. Any minute now...

P.S. I'm still painting.  I'll put some work in progress up soon.  I started on a bigger canvass and it is taking equally longer to finish.  I'll be going back to smaller scale shortly.  Any custom orders are expidited at the highest priority, of course!

Warriors-Tigerstar Custom Trikky

I made this Tigerstar for my good friend's daughter who is obsessed with Warriors book series.  I've been interested in reading these with my son but they are on reserve forever at the library.  I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and buy them.

Still Life with Cat and Painting

Rigby wanted in on the action.  Here is work in progress on the new painting. There is going to be a-lot of cool details in this one so it may take a while.  However, right now I'm in "Background Hell".   After this is done I am starting a new series. So, this is the last of my Boston Terriers for a while.  Sorry Elvis and Sully.

Chinese Dragon Elvis-Sketchy

My next painting.  I was inspired by Chinese new year and their traditional depictions of the dog statues. This one will be big, in the 20"x30" range.

Just for Kicks

There are perks of having an artist in the house.  This is the TARDIS door I painted for my son's room.

veranellies

I have been featured on my best friend Trisha's blog Veranellies today as part of her regular feature profiling Etsy artisans.  She does an excellent job of giving you a peek into my little corner of the world.
Thanks Lady!! Linky here
